This past weekend @ KASCON 18; everyone who went has been agreeing, in one word > AMAZING.
i’ll write a lot more my thoughts and refections about this life-changing, inspirational weekend later. i’m glad i had so many uplifting conversations with role-models, speakers, and the future… the students.
On Sat… i passed around a clipboard during our LiNK | Liberation for N. Korea seminar on Sat. and asked people to write one line each to our brothers and sisters in N. Korea. afterwards i went up to my room and arranged it into a song to sing at KASCON LIVE on Sat. night…
Taking lines that my brothers and sisters wrote, arranging it into a song, and singing in front of 650 Korean Americans to our N. Korean brothers and sisters was one of the most moving experiences in my life. many people came up to me afterwards w/ tears in their eyes sayin… “i know we’re going to make a difference…”
knowledge is power. ideas change the world.
i have a calling…
To Be With You
song to our N. Korean brothers and sisters
[From this moment on... melody]
Please forgive me, for not caring for you
Although we’re not there, we share a blood bond
and you are suffering, you’re starving to death
and our apathy goes on…
Please forgive me, my brother and sister
in N. Korea, your freedom is gone
A mental prisoner, you’re living as a slave
and our apathy goes on…
*Forgive us cause its taking us so long
To save you when we know you’re being tortured
And we know we are running out of time
To be with you, on earth or after
Please forgive me, for worrying about my life
when its nothing compared to your strife
Our generation is the last one to save you
So we won’t be silent anymore
*Forgive us cause its taking us so long
As we live a life that’ll stagger your imagination
We long for the day when we will reunite
To be with you, my people undivided
- We won’t be silent anymore
get educated | spread the word

You were definitely inspirational to all the BC students that went. We definitely came back with a heart for North Korea and are now trying to spread the word. We would love for you to come to the Boston Korean Intercollegiate Council Benefit Gala in late April. Would you be interested?
